An extremely important part of the 6th Ohio's community are those members who portray the lives and experiences of the civilian men, women and children of the period. Our members depict life as it was on the home front, as well as impressions showing the civilian support of the military in the field. The war years brought great pain and tragedy to homes all across the country. It was also a time of great mobilization, as civilians in large numbers provided production support for the economy and the war effort. Equally important was the moral and spiritual contribution that was made by individuals, communities and organizations who provided material comforts, administered medical aid, and offered emotional support for soldiers and their families.
Many of our female civilian reenactors are also part of the Ladies Living History Society of Greater Cincinnati. If you are interested in portraying a civilian during the Civil War, please follow this link for more information.
